PROS:

Aloqa is an amazing local store/food/atm finder as well as many more things that it can find. As well as its free, it has one of the best utility UI (user interface) out there. Its a convenient easy to use application that all it asks for is your Location which can be done automatically via GPS. It comes withs some preset local things around you which you can add more such as Pizza, Gasoline, Fast Food, Shopping, Movies, Gifts, Hospitals,WiFi (locations that have free wifi), Weather, Salad Places, and many more (as well as get rid). The app works great on any android phone and the best part is that its quick. I never have to wait more than a few seconds for any place I want to go to load. If I hit a store, it shows me on google maps how close I am, how long it is going to take, gives me direction and it is just really great. If your with your friends a lot this is a great app, I find myself a lot arguing what quick places and close places we can go to and this app can just quickly and efficiently find a close restraint near me and quickly show me it on a map with directions.

CONS:

The only bad part that I have about this app is that it sometimes goes to close to me. Such as if I know that someone is about 3 miles away. It won’t pick it up because its to far away. It kinda get annoying, but most of the time it will work fine and tell me when something is 10 miles away. So it has its good and bad days. It would be nice though to be able to choose the range of how far you are willing to travel. Other then that, its an amazing and useful tool.

PROS:

Zedge is a great app if you want ringtones, or wallpapers. I would say it is more of a ringtone app then wallpapers due to the ratio from ringtones to wallpapers (Wallpapers: 10,086, Ringtones: 354,999). I have had some trouble with other wallpaper apps that I find this one fixed. With others when I go to change my wallpaper I don’t seem to find it there. But when I download it with Zedge it works flawlessly. It has a very nice UI and it is smooth and quick. Even though they have a lot of ringtones, and wallpapers it is easy to find a good one that you want. The tags are great on the searches and I can easily find a ringtone or wallpaper that I wanted without the not related wallpapers or ringtones showing up. Its nice because if I find a ringtone I like I can favorite it and then go to my favorites at anytime and download it again or show it to my friends. The app is constantly updating there library which is really nice because every time you open the app there are great new ringtones or wallpapers. Make sure if you like a wallpaper, or ringtone you favorite it or you will find yourself searching for it again to show someone, and favoring it tells other people that you liked it.

CONS:

Things I don’t like is I wish you could create an account to be able to save your favorite list, when you reinstall the app, or restore you phone anything like that losing the data from the app. Your favorites list goes away which gets really annoying when I spent a long time finding cool ringtones then them going away.

Funny Jokes

Funny jokes is an amazingly funny app! It has thousands and thousands of daily added from people around the world. This app has many categories that make finding the right joke perfect. I love waking up in the morning and cheering myself up with reading a short funny joke, or going to bed reading these jokes. This app brings the best jokes to you because it allows people to vote on them keeping the best jokes on the top and the less funny ones closer to the bottom. It has daily top, all time top, most recent in each category. It also allows you to create an account so you can favorite them and go back and tell all of your friends your favorite app. Its quick, works, and does the job. It IS the best joke app I have seen anywhere. Its better then any desktop app out there.

Some parts that I would change are, maybe being able to leave comments, search bar, and more categories. Other then those minor hold backs this app is a must. And plus it is FREE! The ads never get in the way and the app is a joy to have.

This weeks favorite app is a game again… Even though I’m not yet on 2.1 this is still an awesome app. It is an addictive fun and creative way to play with balls. It is an online game which is pretty impressive. They don’t have to worry about lag because of the way the game is played. You have a timer for how long your move can take. The game starts you out with a certain amount of balls (depending on the map you play). From there you get to make your move trying to get the other players balls out into the infinite.

In this example the infinite or space is in the center. Each turn where ever your ball was last will create a bomb under it, if you hit the bomb you do not die but you get hit, IE: into the infinite. If I where the blue balls I would be losing because of the lack of balls I have. In this map I start out with 3 balls of my color choosing. And i can hit out in this case the browns balls (the other online players). You only lose when you have no balls left. This not only is a game but also has a cool chat feature as well as a friend list where you can add, remove, and block players. They currently have 6 different maps which you can play, all being online. If you find a friend you would like to play with you can tap on there name and add them once the game is complete. You are also able talk to the player that you are in a game with. You can invite your friended people to a private game and play on with them head to head. You can customize your ball and your avatar which is just a detailed ball of faces and hats and colors and others that the other players sees when starting and finishing a map.

You can also level up. The point of leveling is to get new costumes and I’m sure other things… Maybe maps… I’m level 6 right now and I enjoy playing this game when I’m walking my dog, in class, or any other time I’m bored and want to play something without waiting a long time to wait for it to load.

TIP: Don’t give up if you only have 1 ball! I’ve won lots of time by just letting them kill themselves

Some bad parts about the game I would say is when you are playing with someone and you decide to chat with them. Your timer for how long your move can make will still run. So either you type what you need to say SUPER fast or you miss a turn, which is what happens to me a lot. Also I wish you could get weapons or some sort of speeding the game up. I played 1 game for 30 minutes because me and my friend both kept dodging each other and avoiding the infinite. If there was something like a SUPER explosive bomb or a nuke that jumbled up the screen scattering the balls all over. Another issue I am having with the game is that there is no way to find out who you just played with. Since its an online game people come up with some crazy names and to add them they either have to be in the chat or right after a game, and usually after a game they will leave way to fast for you to add them and if you try and tell them to wait it takes to long for you to send it. maybe if there was a way to get a history of who you just played with or even a way to add them while your playing. Another nice feature of the game would be a talking to them. Now Elite Nerds has been working on a “Super Secret” Project that might help with this problems… If you have been reading up you will find little hints on this project and maybe even get a free beta, copy, and other little treats… I will be putting things like “Tweet me this” or “be the first one to do…” So keep on the look out

Abduction

My favorite app this week will go to Abduction. I hate buying games but once I played the demo and I realized how I never got off I thought It would be worth the purchase. If you have ever been on an iPhone there is a chance that you have seen “Doodle Jump” it is somewhat of the same thing and a very addictive game. Though this game doesn’t give me the same addiction as doodle jump with cartoony graphics and fun boosters and creatures along the way I still play it a month later. The game has 2 main section “Quick Game” and “Main Game” I’m still working on the main game Challenges. In the “Main Game” there is Adventure, Challenge, Versus CPU, and Custom. And the things that takes it apart from doodle jump is that doodle jump does not have a Main Game so it can get old. I will say if you are easily frustrated the Challenges might not be the right mode for you. In the Challenges there is Time Trial, Score Attack, Friend Rescue, Mayhem, CPU Race, and my favorite Moon Missions. I’ve finished Moon Missions, CPU Race, and gotten to the last one on Time Trials. Its starting to get annoying when you are timed and trying to get the to the top and OH a bomb comes XD. First time you kinda laugh it off second time your determined and by the 5th time it starts to get bothersome.
