Demything some myths about the screen:

There seems have been been some different pictures of the S3 display being 4.8:

As claimed by many news sites, the screen is to be 4.8 inches. Which is silly, even in this photo if you measure where the screen actually starts and ends, it is not 4.8. Not only is this speculation based on a RULER, wrong, but is also not practical. With different screen sizes all android phones like to keep a similar ratio, makes apps more consistently working for developers, easier to work with, and all around hitting the “golden ratio.” Having a 4.7” (minus the on screen home buttons) display is the most likely screen size due to the Galaxy Nexus, and the resolution similar to the Galaxy Note.

What I’m excited for:

4.7″ (4.65) Super AMOLED Plus HD Display 720(most likely 800)x1280
This is pretty impressive, while the Galaxy Note close to the same resolution (800×1280) and the Non-pentile Galaxy Nexus (720×1280), it is quite a bit nicer, so having this kind of DPI (320 close to the iPhone 4) will really sharpen the resolution and all around performance of the S3.

TouchWiz 5.0: I love TouchWhiz 4.0, and I honestly think it is the only UI overlay of Android that has successfully improved Android since 1.5; where any UI overlay looked better than native Android.
Samsung’s TouchWhiz UI is really something to be excited about, and with ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich – Android 4.0) I am excited to see what Samsung has in store.

Processor: With a 1.4 GHZ Quad Core Processor, this thing is going to be a beast. Enough Said.

Possible long battery life: The battery on the Galaxy S3 looks like it is going to be the same as the Galaxy Note – 2050mAh – which will bring it a pretty nice battery life for such a device. Which is very important for something running this kind of processor and this high resolution of a screen.

What I’m worried about:

Battery Life: The big concern with such a big screen, high resolution, fast processor, and most likely LTE, having only a 2050mAh battery while still large for any phone, might not bring it running for a whole day. Android has been known to be a battery draining, and it has has only improved. So lets I hope that improvements have have not stopped.

No physical/capacitive buttons: This is a bummer:

In a lot of photos it seems to have a mix of buttons and no buttons, as shown in contrast to the 3 photos in this article. It’s hard to say which one is right, and which one is a possible fake body that samsung is putting over the actual device to confuse the leakers.

Only being able to be on TouchWhiz: As much as I love TouchWhiz, I also love native 4.0 ICS, it honestly looks great, and is not as sluggish as any “Sense” that HTC comes out with. Not being able to switch between the native and TouchWhiz could be a big bummer and would make me want to root a lot quicker.

No TouchWhiz at all: In a lot of the photo the S3 seems to be running native ICS (4.0), which, while I said I like very much, I also do like TouchWhiz as an option. Samsung has done great things in the past with TouchWhiz 4.0 and I would hope only improving it with 5.0, if it comes out. With no leaked photos of TouchWhiz 5.0 and only photos of native ICS, and it coming out very soon, It would be a bummer to see it not have TouchWhiz for ICS.

No notification light: As in all of Google’s phones and even some HTC and Motorola, a notification light on the device is a really awesome feature. In the Nexus, it has a notification light, but in any of the other Samsung phones, it seems to be lacking this feature. It isn’t accidental at all, Samsung does not like the notification light. I personally think having this would be a great feature and really give Android a more completive edge against the iOS.

Time for it to come to the US: In the past the S3 has taken a bit longer to come to the US than when it gets realized in the UK. With all of these photos having a home button, I can see a different model being released in the US because of the previous Samsung and Apple disputes on the home button

It is going to be announced May 3rd, so I hope it is be great news!

Screen: 4″6 (though I think it is 4.65, because they do compare it to the nexus and it is the same size), 720×1280, 320Dpi

So it is likely since the Galaxy S III is coming out soon it is very likely that this is the final version.

As shown above though, this one does not have a home button, but the Gizmodo photo does. One is most likely the US version and the other UK version due to US restrictions because of Apple, they can’t have a home button in the US. Sadly.

Now they have said to be announcing the SGS3 May 3rd… and I sit by patiently for the announcement.
